Dating to the period at the beginning of the 1900s as Art Nouveau was being overtaken by Art Deco, this French mantelpiece garniture set is clearly influenced by both movements.
The architectural styling is both geometric, as one might expect from the 1920s Art Deco movement, and also has a natural, tree-like flow, as one would expect from the earlier Art Nouveau era.
In a colour that would fit in with any decor, the three-piece set has wonderful proportions, with the side vases or 'cassoulets' extending the feel of the central clock.
The condition is good, with a few minor nibbles only to the glaze. I’m not sure if the clock works: please see our FAQs for more details on our clocks.
