French Art Deco TEDD Bookends, TEDO

ChateauAntiques

  • TEDD or TEDO? Here I think it's quite clearly TEDD from the photos. But other items from this French Art Deco sculptor read much more like TEDO, hence the confusion and debate.
  • Majestically obedient Alsatian, bronzed spelter bookends on original marble bases.
  • TEDD sculptures are becoming increasingly collectable and therefore interesting investments. Many animal sculptures exist in a number of poses and applications, bookends being collectable in their own right.
  • I do know the answer, by the way: it's TEDD. But as just a few lamps, bookends and paperweights (especially with his squirrel design) have a rather unclear signature, reading TEDO, the confusion will no doubt continue.
