Wonderfully typical of the period in both subject and style, this prowling French Art Deco big cat makes us think of a time when horizons were expanding. Air and cruise ship travel were both in the news and becoming more widely available, and we were starting to have exotic lands on our horizon for the first time.
Made in either the St Radegond or St Clement faience factories in the 1920s or 1930s, you'll see this stalking or prowling feline is in great condition. I guess this would have originally been on display on a mantle or sideboard. Where would it fit in your home?
