Charles Catteau Art Deco Vase, Boch Freres Keramis, D1847, F895

ChateauAntiques

  • This stunning example of a matt enamel-on-earthenware Art Deco vase was made in the 'atelier de fantasie' workshop at the Boch Freres Keramis factory in (almost certainly) 1934.

The hand-painted floral design is one of Charles Catteau (D1847) and is known as 'Polychrome design with floral motifs'.

This is a large Art Deco vase, form F895, standing quite tall at 29 cm (nearly 12") and is in great condition. A nice feature of this particular vase are some fingerprints from the original decorator (who was most probably Catherine Barjansky, 1890-1965). These marks should show up in the photos.

More information can be read in our article Art For All - Charles Catteau's Influence on Boch Freres Keramis and the Art Deco Movement.
