Charles Lemanceau Art Deco Antelope Group Sculpture

  • One of the most sought-after ceramic sculptors of the French Art Deco period, Charles Lemanceau is best known for his studies of animals.

  • Here we have a pair of antelopes or deer, with classic Lemanceau detailing—stylised grass leaves.

    There is a nice strong signature to the base, capitalised 'LEMANCEAU', and this piece was made in the Sainte Radegonde factory c.1930.

    Good colouring to the ceramic, giving depth to the piece, which is in great condition, with the slightest of fleabites to the corner, as clear in the photos.
