WMF Art Nouveau Crumb Tray

ChateauAntiques

  • This stunning example of Art Nouveau legends WMF's work from around 1910. The asymetrical goose is cleverly brought into the utility of the crumb tray, in that its tail provides the handle. The motif is, of course, continued to the brush.
  • The brush still has its original bristles and hanging hook, and both pieces are stamped with the 'ostrich' mark in a lozenge which originates from the German word for ostrich, 'Der Strauss' (Daniel Straub was the name of one of the founders), which was used only up to 1914.
  • A beautiful piece of Art Nouveau history a and sound investment opportunity.
