The bright silver makes the light beautifully leap off strong blue, and the combination of these colours plus the worn finish scream '1920s France' - the start of the French Art Deco Period.
The fact that there is a chip here and there and that some of the silvering is worn is far outweighed that this set is COMPLETE. This model with the matching pair of vases is so rare, a little minor wear is completely acceptable. The original, bevelled glass to the clock-face is still intact and highlighted even more stunningly by the chromed, angled frame, giving an almost jewel-like facet effect to the light hitting it.
