Sunbursts and geometrical patterns were very popular in the French Art Deco period, as were cocktail parties where canapes and nibbles would be served.
Here you have a silver-plated serving platter with macassar ebony handles (both favourite materials of Art Deco designers in France in the 1920s and 1930s ) and a geometrical sunburst motif.
I can't make out the manufacturer's hallmark, but the silver plate hallmark is clear. There are a few misses, which I'm sure could be polished out if you wished.
