TEDD or TEDO? Here I think it's quite clearly TEDD from the photos. But other items from this French Art Deco sculptor read much more like TEDO, hence the confusion and debate.
Majestically obedient Alsatian, bronzed spelter bookends on original marble bases.
TEDD sculptures are becoming increasingly collectable and therefore interesting investments. Many animal sculptures exist in a number of poses and applications, bookends being collectable in their own right.
I do know the answer, by the way: it's TEDD. But as just a few lamps, bookends and paperweights (especially with his squirrel design) have a rather unclear signature, reading TEDO, the confusion will no doubt continue.
